the way that roger ebert descibed films and how it protrays specific aspects was the same way i was taught to look at symbols and camera motion in my cinema studies class. Ebert perfectly described how to look at films critically by saying that every culture describes symbols in their own unique way and that not everyone is going to look at something the same way as someone else. This is backed up by the way Hitchcock described the bikini shot that the way a shot is filmed can dramatically change the meaning of the scene like how a kind old man can turn into a pervert just by changing the middle shot with a woman and child to one of a woman wearing a bikini. Camera angle is also very important because cutting away at a very high intense moment can really deescalate the situation so picking specific time can really immerse the person watching the movie
